In the third quarter of 2025, the performance of the top Photo and Video applications on iOS in New Zealand has shown interesting trends in terms of downloads, revenue, and active users, according to data from Sensor Tower.

CapCut - Video Editor by Bytedance Pte. Ltd experienced a steady increase in weekly revenue, peaking at approximately $35K by the end of September. Downloads saw fluctuations, starting at 3.7K and ending at a similar level. Active users declined from about 97K to 71K over the quarter.

Canva: AI Photo & Video Editor showed stable revenue, mostly hovering around $14K to $15K per week. Downloads increased mid-quarter, peaking in early September at around 3K, while active users saw a significant rise, reaching nearly 47K by early September before declining towards the end of the quarter.

Instagram had a varied revenue trend, with an initial increase reaching $3.5K mid-July, followed by a decline to approximately $1.3K by the end of September. Downloads remained stable, with a slight increase towards the end of the quarter. Active users showed resilience, starting at 226K and peaking at 231K.

YouTube by Google maintained high revenue, peaking at $116K mid-July, but saw a decrease towards the end of the quarter. Downloads remained consistent, while active users fluctuated around the 1.3M mark, showing a slight dip mid-quarter.

Snapchat experienced steady growth in revenue, reaching $37K by the end of September. Downloads were relatively stable with minor fluctuations, and active users remained strong, peaking at 522K at the beginning of the quarter before settling around 486K.
